The housing business posted higher revenue due to higher average selling prices and the recording of revenue from a large non-residential project in the first quarter, while its gross profit margin declined because fewer detached houses were delivered and the contribution to profit from non-residential projects was limited. Profit declined in the renovation business due to sluggish orders and a decrease in large-scale renovation projects; in the real estate business, due to a reactionary decline following the recording of large development sites, lower brokerage fee revenue and higher SG&A expenses; and in the rental business, due to lower revenue.
