The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Crude oil sales volumes declined, and LNG procurement costs increased because LNG cargoes that had been planned for procurement from within the Persian Gulf were instead sourced on the spot market from other regions following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Exploration expenses, selling expenses and general and administrative expenses also increased. Ordinary income was additionally affected by a decrease in equity-method investment income and the change from a gain on valuation of derivatives to a loss on valuation of derivatives.
