「コンサル社はＭＯＥＣＯ社に対し、本件事故発生までコンサル社が実施した工事の出来高、本件事故発生に伴いコンサル社が実施した現場作業費およびコンサル社が被った損害等21億２千９百万円の支払いを求めて、2024年９月に訴訟を提起しておりました。一方、ＭＯＥＣＯ社においても本件事故発生はコンサル社の安全施工義務違反に起因するものとして、コンサル社に対し、本件事故発生に伴いＭＯＥＣＯ社が被ったとされる損害等の支払いを求める訴訟の提起があったものであります。」
2023年6月に北海道蘭越町で発生した蒸気噴出事故をめぐり、MOECO社が34億6,400万円の支払いを求める訴訟を2024年10月3日付で提起し、コンサル社も21億2,900万円の支払いを求めて2024年9月に提訴していた。コンサル社は安全施工義務違反及び損害賠償金等の負担義務はないと考えていると記載している。
