Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Net sales were ¥6,668,685 thousand, or 93.0% of the same period of the previous year. In the human resources business, sales from teacher placement increased, while the year-on-year comparison includes the results of I Need Co., Ltd., which was excluded from consolidation. In the system development business, demand related to the government cloud and expanded sales of IoT products contributed to results, while a shortage of DDR4 memory led to lower shipments of PCs and servers and delivery delays. In the construction and civil engineering business, profitability improved as structural reforms optimized fixed costs and expenses. Net income deteriorated due to the recognition of an impairment loss on investment securities and special investigation expenses and other costs.
