「Introduction and increase of carbon taxes, surging energy and material prices, and rising average temperatures」
The Company has developed the scenario risks of decarbonisation policies and extreme weather into a more detailed assessment of specific risks, including carbon taxes, energy and material prices, rising average temperatures and heatstroke, together with time horizons and impact levels. - FY2024First statedAnnual report
「〈2°C (RCP2.6) scenario〉 Under the 2°C scenario, decarbonisation policies advance worldwide, regulations on fossil fuel use are strengthened, and wind, geothermal and biomass power generation become widespread. 〈4°C (RCP8.5) scenario〉 Under the 4°C scenario, decarbonisation policies advance, but their effectiveness remains uncertain. Although consumer awareness of decarbonisation rises to a certain extent, there are no regulations on fossil fuel use, and temperature increases are assumed to accelerate more rapidly than the effects of decarbonisation efforts.」
Under the 2°C scenario, the Company assumes transition risks from low-carbon policies and tighter regulations, while under the 4°C scenario it assumes physical risks from the intensification of extreme weather such as severe storms. The Company assesses these as risks that could have a certain impact on its business.
