「In the Seed and Seedling Business, vegetable seed sales declined because cabbage exports fell due to timing differences in the sales period and other factors. However, sales increased on firm domestic sales of edamame and carrot exports. Sales of forage seeds also increased, due to higher sales of Italian ryegrass in western Japan and of seedlings for greening works to support disaster recovery. On the other hand, the decline in orders related to landscaping, which was integrated into the Seed and Seedling Business from the current fiscal year, had an impact, and net sales declined 2.4% year on year to ¥5,235 million.」
